Best Shot photo does not have to be of the course itself but must have be taken at the golf course in 2016 or 2017 and must show at least part of the course or facilities for location identification.The finalists will appear on our website, facebook page and twitter, with credit. Best photos will then be voted for by our website visitors. Best remember to vote for your favourite!
Entries must be in by midnight July 29th. Entries must come in thru our contest tab on the website.
The People’s Choice winning photos will be featured on our website and the photographer will be awarded a round of 14 holes of golf for 4 and of course bragging rights. The winning Junior Photographer will be awarded a round of 10 holes of golf for 4 and a one-on-one half hour lesson with our Junior Golf Programmer – Quin Hunter.
All images must be submitted though our photo contest tab and form on our website including all required fields, including name, email and other information about your photo submission.

Brule Point Golf Photo Contest is open to all professional and amateur photographers who have reached the age of 10 at the time of entry. The immediate family (spouse, parents, siblings, and children) and household members of employees are not eligible to enter.
Brule Point Golf reserves the right to reject any entry if, in Brule Point Golf’s sole discretion, the photograph is not in good taste or appropriate for our family friendly website. Entries will be accepted up to midnight July 29th, Atlantic Time. Entries submitted after that will not be eligible. Brule Point Golf’s computer is the official time-keeping device for the Photo Contest.
Entries will be vetted by committee appointed by Brule Point Golf (‘Sponsor’) and the committee’s top picks will be posted on our website for People’s Choice Voting. Photographs may be resized and by Brule Point Golf to suit space. Voting begins at 4:00 pm ATL on August 4th 2017 and ends at 11:59pm ATL on August 14th, 2017 (the ‘Voting Period’). Votes submitted before or after the Voting Period will not be eligible. People’s Choice will be determined based on which of the photographs receives the most votes. Voting limited to one (1) vote per email address per day.
People’s Choice Adult
(1 winner): winner selected from among the committee’s top picks based on the highest number of votes received during public voting period
People’s Choice Youth
(1 winner): taken by a youth 10 – 17-year-old, winner selected from among the committee’s top picks based on the highest number of votes received during public voting period
To ensure eligibility for the contest, please submit files no larger than 10MB at the time of entry. Higher resolution files of at least 240 dpi/ppi will be requested should an entry be selected to be awarded a prize. All photographs should accurately reflect the subject matter and the scene as it appeared. Photos that have been digitally altered beyond standard optimization (removal of dust, cropping, reasonable adjustments to exposure, color and contrast, etc.) will be disqualified.
Entries may originate in any format — including, but not limited to digital files, digital prints, color transparencies, color prints, or black and white prints — so long as they are submitted electronically in a .JPEG .jpg, or.png form. Multiple exposures that have been combined to produce a single “High Dynamic Range” image are acceptable. Entries should include metadata if at all possible. Caption information should include:
- Location detail (example: hole number, driving range, clubhouse), Brule Point Golf
- Nova Scotia
- Detailed caption of subject matter
If you choose to include people in your submission, you are responsible for obtaining the necessary releases from the individuals depicted, and must be able to provide copies of those releases to Brule Point Golf upon request.
Submissions may be watermarked if desired, but the watermark should be inconspicuous enough to not interfere with the judging of the photo. A watermarked photo might not be honored by the competition (at the committee’s sole discretion) if the photographer is unable or unavailable to provide a pristine, watermark-free version of the image when asked. Images will be judged on originality, composition, artistic merit and overall impact.
All images must be submitted though our photo contest tab and form on our website including all required fields, including name, email and other information about your photo submission. You can select an image directly from your computer desktop, phone or mobile, or submit images from Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram for consideration in the contest. Digital images that are sent via mail or email will not be accepted.
You may enter an unlimited number of times, but each time must be entry of a new image. By entering, you indicate your unconditional agreement to, and acceptance of, these Official Rules and Brule Point Golf’s decisions, which are final and binding. You cannot win a prize unless you comply with all requirements in these Official Rules.
Entrants may be asked to supplement their submission (such as with a paragraph about their photo or the highest resolution version of their photo) anytime on or after July 17, 2017. All judging decisions are final. Brule Point Golf will notify the winner via the contact information provided at the time of entry.
The winning photographs will be featured on our website and the Adult Photographer will be awarded a round of 14 holes of golf for 4 and of course bragging rights. The winning Junior Photographer will be awarded a round of 10 holes of golf for 4 and a one-on-one half hour lesson with our Junior Golf Programmer – Quin Hunter.

You will retain all rights to any photograph you submit — including ownership if applicable. If you submit a photograph to enter the Photo Contest, you grant Brule Point Golf/Brule Point a 5 year royalty-free, nonexclusive right to:
- Display the photograph on http://brulepointgolf.ca, http://brulepoint.ca
- Allow third-parties to share the photograph on social media.
- Use the photograph on the Internet and in Social Media
- Use the photograph in Brule Point Golf’s and Brule Point’s communications materials including but not limited to web sites and web publications, fact sheets, fund raising publications, advertising, multimedia, presentation and membership services
- Provide your photograph to other individuals and organizations for use in news stories, newsletters, reports, slide shows, displays, web pages, videos, membership premiums, and the like
- Use, in connection with the Photo Contest, your name, city, province in promotions and other publications
- Retain a digital copy of your photograph that will be archived in the Brule Point Golf, Brule Point photo library and accessible via online photo archive
Brule Point Golf will endeavor to credit all photographs with the caption “Person’s Name” when the full name is available.
In the event that the operation, security, or administration of the Photo Contest is impaired in any way, Sponsor may, in its sole discretion, either: (a) suspend the Photo Contest to address the impairment and then resume the Photo Contest; or (b) award the prize(s) from among the eligible entries received up to the time of the impairment. Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify and seek damages from any individual who tampers with the operation of the Photo Contest, violates these Official Rules, or acts in a disruptive or unsportsmanlike manner. In the event of a dispute as to the owner of an online entry, the authorized account holder of the e-mail address used to enter will be deemed to be the owner.
When you enter, you will automatically become an e-supporter of Brule Point Golf and Brule Point. This includes special event invitations, digital messages, text and a monthly e-newsletter. You may cancel and unsubscribe at any time.
